The Keanunaissance is real. Keanu Reeves has gone from a 90s actor mocked for his stilted performances and limited range to one of our most beloved actors. It probably doesn’t hurt that in the social media age, there are myriad stories of Reeves being a mensch and normal dude who rides the New York Subways with everyone else like its no big thing, casually strolls into obscure arthouse public movie screenings, knowing how to pose for photos with women without being a lech, reportedly giving millions of dollars of backend profits from “The Matrix” to the crew, and generally, behaving like a completely average person who doesn’t flaunt his exorbitant wealth (the Twitter account Keanu Reeves Doing Things is basically dedicated to chronicling the Keanu mundane including buying a wine bottle, throwing it in his motorcycle jacket and speeding off). And the guy really loves movies too.
And yes, movies, moviegoers and everyone just seems to adore Keanu these days. So, that brings us to Marvel. Recently, rumors have swirled around the Internet that Keanu Reeves was being sought for a role in Marvel’s upcoming cosmic movie, “The Eternals.” Speaking to Marvel President and impresario Kevin Feige while doing press for the upcoming “Spider-Man: Far From Home” movie, the chief didn’t confirm those rumors, but did admit talks had taken place with Reeves.

Though not necessarily about that role. Because, Marvel is apparently always talking to Keanu Reeves in featuring into their universe somewhere. But it sounds like Reeves and Marvel both want the role to be the perfect outing for the actor.
“We talk to him for almost every film we make,” Feige laughed while speaking to ComicBook.com. “We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”

Reeves has said in the past he’d love to play Wolverine and Marvel now own the rights to 20th Century Fox characters, obviously, but at 54, the actor has probably aged out of that role (they’re likely going to want to cast younger and X-Men characters that can play in their universe for at least 10 years).
Rumors have pointed to Adam Warlock, a cosmic character that was integral to the original ‘Infinity War’ comic book storyline and could also factor into “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3,” but who knows where he actually ends up. The long story short is, Marvel is looking to recruit Keanu Reeves into the fold, both parties seem interested, are often talking and it sounds like it will eventually happen someday.
For now, I leave you with this popular sentiment.
Keanu Reeves shoulda been Doctor Strange.
