With “X-Men: First Class” soon heading into production, director Matthew Vaughn has decided to bring back “Kick-Ass” composer Henry Jackman to score what will easily be the biggest film for both director and composer yet.
Jackman doesn’t have too much stuff to his own name just yet. He scored “Monsters Vs. Aliens” and you’ll hear his work in the upcoming Jack Black comedy “Gulliver’s Travels” later this year. But that said, he has lent his talents in smaller music department roles to bigger films like “Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End,” “Hancock” and “The Dark Knight” and Vaughn is clearly confident in his abilities. Not to mention that his score for “Kick-Ass” was actually pretty great and frankly it’s nice to see someone who isn’t one of the usual big names land the gig.
“X-Men: First Class” will shoot this fall and land in theaters on June 3, 2011.
