Killing Eve Surprises With 5 TCA Awards Nominations

The Television Critics Association announced the nominations for the 34th TCA Awards this morning and the program with the most nominations was something of a surprise.  BBC America’s “Killing Eve” earned five nods including Program of the Year and recognition for stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh in the Individual Achievement in Drama category.

The five other nominees in the Program of the Year field, the most prestigious honor from the TCA, include “Atlanta,” “The Americans,” “The Good Place,” “This Is Us” and last year’s winner, “The Handmaid’s Tale.”  Hulu’s breakout series earned three nominations as did FX’s “Atlanta,” Amazon Studios’ “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and HBO’s “Barry.”  FX’s “The Americans,” a program the TCA have long championed, earned four nominations.

The over 200 members of the TCA will vote for the winners which will be announced during a ceremony hosted by Robin There on Sat. August 4 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
