With “Charlie’s Angels” right around the corner, it appears that actress Kristen Stewart is ready to jump back into the world of franchise filmmaking. But this isn’t the first time Stewart has been in a big-budget action film since her time dating vampires in “Twilight.” Thought it wasn’t a massive hit, the actress did star in the live-action “Snow White and the Huntsman.” But as she described to Howard Stern recently (via DailyMail), experiences in her personal life prevented her from returning to the franchise for the sequel.
For those that don’t remember, “Snow White and the Huntsman” starred Stewart alongside ‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth. The film is an action-heavy reboot of the classic fairy tale and did, in fact, launch a bit of a franchise, with “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” arriving four years later. However, that second film didn’t involve Stewart, at all. Why? Well, she believes it has to do with her highly-publicized relationship with director Rupert Sanders, where it appeared that the director cheated on his wife with Stewart.
But according to Stewart, the whole relationship got blown out of proportion.
“I did not fuck him,” said Stewart.
She understands why people assumed that she and Sanders did consummate their relationship, adding when “you make out with a dude in public, it definitely looks like you did [have sex].”

However, even though she contends the relationship wasn’t nearly as intimate as many believed, the perception of what happened led to her being left out of the ‘Snow White’ sequel, “The Huntsman: Winter’s War.”
“We lived in a different time then, you know what I mean? I feel like the slut-shaming that went down was so absurd,” she said.
“’And they should’ve put me in that movie! It would’ve been better. Not to be a dick, but…,” she added. “They didn’t put me in that movie because I went through such a highly publicized scandal, and so they were like scared of touching that.”
Obviously, she wasn’t included in the film, and ‘Winter’s War’ would go on to get pretty terrible reviews and only gross $165 million worldwide, down from the almost $400 million made from ‘Snow White.’ Clearly, it wouldn’t have hurt the film if Stewart was included. There’s no way the film could have done worse.
Alas, that wasn’t to be and Stewart has moved on to star in other films, including “Charlie’s Angels,” which arrives in theaters on November 15.
