Kristen Wiig & Bill Hader Reteam For 'The Skeleton Twins,' Luke Wilson Also On Board

null"Bill Hader and I have a project together where we play twins, both incredibly depressed, and it’s actually really serious. It’s already written. It’s called 'The Skeleton Twins.' We’re just hoping that financing will come along soon, but it’s a great project," Anna Faris told Vulture this spring. How things change. Presumably, the comic actress is taking some time to spend with her new baby boy, but luckily for Hader the project is moving on and it now reteams him with an old friend.

"Adventureland" co-star and fellow 'SNL' alum Kristen Wiig has come on board the project, along with Luke Wilson, for something that sounds promising. Co-written by Mark Heyman ("Black Swan") and Craig Johnson (who is also directing), the story follows a set of twins, Maggie and Milo (Wiig and Hader), who manage to defy death on the same day, and as a result take a hard look at their lives. Maggie examines her marriage to the nice guy frat boy Lance (Wilson, obviously), while her gay brother Milo comes to terms with the his relationship with Rich. Is this going to be the closest to a Stefon movie we'll get? Perhaps. We're not quite sure where the "really serious" stuff Faris is talking about comes in, but it seems clear this could be more of a dramedy.

We'll find out soon. Production will start next month in New York, with the Duplass Brothers producing, so see you on the festival circuit in 2013. [Variety]
