Lance Hunter And Mockingbird Getting Their Own 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Spinoff

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.While I’m fine riding along in Marvel’s cinematic universe, I haven’t been converted to their TV offerings. The early days of "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." were so amateur I didn’t bother sticking around, and while "Daredevil" has been praised to be moon — yep, even by some of my fellow writers — I’ve found it gritty but also dull, and really on-the-nose at times (how many flashbacks are needed to drive the same point home over and over?). But I’m in the minority, clearly. Audiences are loving the small-screen adventures and even more are on the way.

Fan faves Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) are getting their own spinoff series from "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." The idea is that this season of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will set up the new, untitled show, which would run concurrently. Nothing has been officially greenlit yet, but the wheels are in motion.

So, let’s recap where we’re at with Marvel’s TV world: "Agent Carter" has wrapped, "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Daredevil" are on the air, "A.K.A. Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," and "Iron Fist" are on the way at Netflix, plus a "Defenders" miniseries. Meanwhile, "12 Years A Slave" writer John Ridley is working on a separate, secret TV show on ABC. Phew! And you thought Phase 3 was huge…. [Deadline]
