You know things are getting bad when the California Governor’s office is able to rope Larry David in to do a PSA about the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. But hey, times are tough and the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star isn’t above doing something for the common good.
In a new PSA from Larry David, the legendary creator of “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” takes aim at the “idiots” that refuse to follow the social distancing guidelines that have been instituted by the government of California, as well as the White House and CDC. Why does Larry David think the idiots are risking the lives of old people? Well, probably, as he puts it, “cause you’re not too bright.”
But still, the message is clear—even the unintelligent need to follow the health and safety guidelines during this global pandemic. Because even smart people can be infected by idiots, therefore idiots need to stop being dumb and respect the seriousness of the situation. If you don’t believe me, take it from the man who has dominated sitcoms for more than two decades. Because if you can’t trust Larry David to give you cogent and helpful advice about how to deal with a life-threatening illness that is ravaging various countries around the world and sending our economy into freefall, then who can you trust? Well, yeah, maybe scientists. Them too.
If for no other reason, we should all be following these PSAs because we all want to make sure the world doesn’t end and Larry David is able to make a Season 11 of ‘Curb.’ 100 episodes of him doing his thing on HBO is definitely not enough. We need 100 more. So, be safe out there people, smart and dumb alike. Let’s ensure that David is able to do what he does best, make sitcoms about nothing.
