We are a little over thirteen hours away from the world premiere of on "On The Road," perhaps the single most anticipated, or at least the longest anticipated, film of the Cannes Film Festival. And of all the question marks about the movie, the biggest for us has been the young principal cast: Sam Riley, Garret Hedlund, Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst have all done good work in the past, but are still relatively untested with material like this. Could they embody the beatnik dream of Jack Kerouac's novel?
Well, we'll have our verdict for you early tomorrow morning, but in the meantime, you can have a look at a snippet from the film yourself, with a new clip that premiered on the movie's Facebook page. We saw some of this clip a few days back, albeit in French, but now it's in English for your viewing pleasure. So here's Marylou and Sal conversing in the language for which the film was intended.
And for Stewart fans, there's another treat: MTV managed to get the actress and her "Snow White and the Huntsman" co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron to read some extracts from naughty publishing phenomenon "50 Shades Of Grey," and it's pretty amusing stuff. Given that Universal just paid a massive sum for the film rights to the book, could this be a glimpse at what the eventual movie looks like? Almost certainly not, but still… Watch both the clip and MTV's lark below.
