Lena Dunham Says Work On Season 3 Of 'Girls' Will Start In March

nullWell, this isn't exactly new, and HBO has yet to officially announce anything, but it looks like a third season of "Girls" is on the way, and once again, it's coming fast. And why not? The show just picked up two Golden Globe awards for Best Television Series – Musical Or Comedy and Best Actress In A Television Series – Musical Or Comedy, it's becoming a branding phenomenon with numerous tie-ins, and simply put, everyone is talking about it. So why wait?

It was last fall that Dunham teased that a third season would be "shooting soon," and talking with Alec Baldwin on his podcast "Here's The Thing," she put a bit of a date on it. "We’re starting at the end of March. I’m so excited," she said. And again, while there has been no formal press release, it seems the wheels are already firmly in motion as Dunham adds that the production will have a new home, one that is familiar to Baldwin.

"My show’s moving into the '30 Rock' stages," she said. "We were in Silver Cup and then we went to Steiner because we couldn’t get our stages back because some show that has one word that’s about murder took it. And then we are coming back because you guys are leaving, so we’re gonna be on your stages and in your offices."

Season two of "Girls" has only just begun, with the third episode airing this Sunday, but barring any massive drop off in viewership (the season premiere was down slightly), we'd reckon it's simply a matter of time before HBO makes it real. At this point you're either #teamgirls or not, but if you are, it looks like there's lots of Hannah still to come. [via Deadline]
