Liam Neeson To Star In Remake Of Norwegian Black Comedy/Action Flick ‘In Order Of Disappearance’

You would think that bad guys would know by now not to do anything to Liam Neeson’s kids in a movie, but they just keep on asking to get their head smashed. As we wait for Martin Scorsese’s “Silence” for a change of pace in Neeson’s late-career leading action-star status, it won’t be too long until he is once again racking up a body count.

Though this time, we may see a nice comic twist to the “dad action” formula. Neeson is set to star in a remake of the 2014 Norwegian crime comedy “In Order Of Disappearance,” directed by Hans Petter Moland, who is set to direct this new version as well. Originally played by Stellan Skarsgård, Neeson will play a mild-mannered snowplow driver who snaps when his son is killed by criminals, and in the midst of his bloodshed, ignites a war between two rival gangs.

Gang war? Dead son? Sounds eerily similar to last year’s “Run All Night.” However, given that the original is as much a dark comedy as it is an action-thriller, here’s hoping that nothing gets lost in translation when Moland makes the English-language version to inject new life into the Neeson revenge flick.
