It’s kind of amazing that this far into his "Taken" launched renaissance, Liam Neeson has managed to skirt self-parody with his string of action thrillers. Granted, they haven’t been very good, but they all deliver exactly what they promise—rote action, grizzled one liners—and are competently enough made they don’t dip into camp. And it’s keeping the lights on, and the bread buttered, so why should Neeson change up the playbook? Thus, he’s got another movie on deck that will sound ridiculously familiar.

Deadline reports that the actor will star in "The Commuter." Byron Willinger and Phil de Blasi have penned this one about a businessman who finds his life, and those of his loved ones, threatened by a criminal conspiracy! What will happen next? Well, I don’t have the script, but something tells me Liam will reach into this well of special skills to run all night, non-stop if he has to, to bring down these unknown bad guys.
No word yet on who will direct, but production will begin next spring.
