While Michael B. Jordan keeps riding the high of “Black Panther” (which is still #1 at the box office after 5 weeks), the actor doesn’t seem to want to rest on his laurels. He’s currently in the middle of production of “Creed 2,” and apparently, his company, Outlier Society Productions, is hard at work with yet another exciting project.
According to Variety, Jordan and Outlier Society are on board to produce the World War II film, “The Liberators.” While he’s primarily on board as a producer, this seems like a great film for the star to flex his acting muscles. “The Liberators” tells the story of the 761st regiment in WWII. This group of soldiers is an entirely African-American combat unit that paved the way for desegregation of the armed forces through their heroism.

“The Liberators” is based on the script by Madison Turner, who had previously written “6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain,” and Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, and Alana Mayo, from Outlier Society, are aboard as producers, alongside Jordan. The report also mentions that Warner Bros. will distribute the film, after “a highly competitive situation.”
As mentioned above, Jordan is hard at work on “Creed 2” and his schedule isn’t freeing up anytime soon. The actor’s IMDB page is quickly filling up with projects, so it’s unclear how “The Liberators” will fit in, at this moment. Other than playing Killmonger in “Black Panther,” the actor can be seen in the upcoming “Fahrenheit 451” film from HBO.
Outlier Society Productions also has a busy slate. “The Liberators” joins the Netflix sci-fi series “Raising Dion,” “The Thomas Crown Affair” reboot, “The Stars Beneath Our Feet,” and an untitled project on Oprah’s OWN network. “The Stars Beneath Our Feet” is especially exciting because that film will mark Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut.
