Lionsgate Waves Wand For 'Now You See Me 3'

You may have forgotten that a year ago, Lionsgate were already planning for “Now You See Me 3.” Well, it wasn’t just idle talk as today the studio has pegged a director for the followup to the sequel no one really knew they wanted.

Variety reports that “Now You See Me 2” director Jon M. Chu has been tapped for “Now You See Me 3.” No word yet on which cast members will return, but I would presume that like the second entry in the franchise, the third will feature all the main players (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco, etc.) returning along with some starry new faces (such as Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan who appear in part two). And while I found the first movie to be enjoyable and disposable, that it turned into a franchise is surprising to say the least.

It’ll be up to audiences to decide if this is a ride they want to take more than once. “Now You See Me 2” opens on June 10th.
