Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson have joined Terrence Howard and Charlie Hunnam for Matthew Chapman’s directorial debut with thriller “The Ledge.”
The film follows a man (Hunnam) standing on a high-rise ledge who insists he must jump by noon whilst a policeman below (Howard) tries to manage the situation. Chapman will use the set up to “examine the different and sometimes dangerous beliefs people adopt as a means of surviving emotional trauma.”
Shooting began on Monday and the film is being produced by Michael Mailer and Mark Damon under Damon’s Foresight Unlimited banner, who are also developing an untitled comedy from “The Hangover” scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore — what a reputation they’ve got to live up to now.
It’s a talented bunch of actors Chapman has for his debut and we’re curious to see where this one goes. Hunnam was contender for the titular role in Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” and has shown definite leading man potential on FX’s “Sons Of Anarchy.” As for Howard, he’s probably still nursing the wound from Marvel’s decision to replace him with Don Cheadle in “Iron Man 2.” You gotta feel for him.
