'The Losers' Can't Decide On A Release Date; Sam Worthington Gets Jeffrey Dean Morgan As His 'Texas Killing Fields' Partner

Release date goes up, released date goes down, release date goes up, released date goes down. Many speculated that after bad test screenings the WB/D.C. Comics film, “The Losers” was troubled and this is why the release date was bumped from April 9th to June 4th, putting it one week in front of the very-similar “The A-Team” film. Now the decision has evidently been reversed and the movie will now hit on April 23. A sign that the studio isn’t quite sure what to do with this film? Probably. It features a motley-crew cast of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Holt McCallany, Oscar Jaenada, Jason Patric and Peter Macdissi.

Speaking of release dates. Lionsgate has pulled the terrible looking Nicolas Cage period actioner, “Season Of The Witch” from its March 19th release date. The Crusades-set film is about a group of knights who need to transport a witch to a remote abbey, as she may hold the key to ending the Black Plague. Don’t count on us looking out for a new release date for this one. You’ll have to do that for yourselves.

Speaking of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Bloody Disgusting is reporting that he will join Sam Worthington in Ami Canaan Mann’s “Texas Killing Fields” which is being produced by the director’s father, Michael Mann. At one point, Bradley Cooper was rumored as the lead co-star and frankly, we’d rather see him and Worthington than B-list star Morgan. So this project, based on a true story of a pair of disparate police officers — one from Texas and one from New York — who attempt to solve two decades of disappearances and homicides (as many as 60 victims), has now kind of fallen in our estimation.
