Ever since the box office and critical success of David O. Russell‘s adaptation of Matthew Quick‘s "Silver Linings Playbook," Hollywood has been eager to bring more of the author’s work to the big screen. Channing Tatum wants to make his directorial debut with "Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock," Brie Larson signed on for "The Good Luck Of Right Now" (though there hasn’t been much word on that project in a while), at one point, Sam Raimi lined up "Love May Fail." Well, Raimi is no longer involved with the latter, but the project has just landed a big name.
Emma Stone will star in the movie, which has a screenplay by Mike White (who penned the adaptation of "The Good Luck Of Right Now," so clearly he clicks with Quick’s material). The story focuses on a recently divorced woman who returns to her hometown to clear the name of her English teacher. Here’s the book synopsis:

That’s a whole lotta quirk, but let’s hope the screenplay keeps it manageable. No director yet, but presumably once one comes aboard, this one will start moving. [Deadline]
