Marvel/Netflix's 'Luke Cage' Season 2 Coming In June

Marvel’s “Luke Cage” series was one of the most popular of their Netflix shows. While still falling into the same traps as the other Marvel/Netflix collaborations, there still seems to be a pretty big following for the bulletproof character. Well, after the disaster that was “The Defenders,” Luke is back and judging by the date announcement teaser, get ready for more of the same.

More of the same isn’t always a bad thing, however. If you watched the first season, and loved the music, tone, and attitude on display, then this 20 second teaser will probably get you hyped for the upcoming series that drops in June. Unfortunately, if you were looking for something different, this first bit of footage might underwhelm.

Considering this teaser was only 20 seconds long, there’s no clues as to what the plot will be for the second season, other than Luke will be burned, shot at, and is a bit of a local celebrity. But Netflix did drop a synopsis, as well:

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

Overall, the teaser succeeds in doing the one thing it’s supposed to do – announce a date. So yeah, no matter what your thoughts are on the teaser, it sure does let you know that “Luke Cage” season 2 is coming June 22.
