Are you an up-and-coming actress? How about a role opposite Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler and Zach Galifianakis in a film by the creator of "Mad Men," Matthew Weiner? That is the dream-turned-reality for model/actress Laura Ramsey who has now joined the cast of Weiner's feature directorial debut, "You Are Here."
To be fair, Ramsey had a bit of a advantage over others having featured herself on the popular AMC show — on "The Jetset," the 11th episode of season two — with Weiner also noting that he's been "a huge fan of Laura’s for a while." The actress will play a young, beautiful widow and love interest to Wilson'character in the story, which follows two roommates in their thirties, one a weatherman preoccupied with dodging the responsibilities and rigors of adult life who is co-dependent on his best friend. Things take a turn, however, at the sudden death of his buddy's father, who inherits the family general store, a country home and millions of dollars worth of Amish farmland.
The synopsis isn't exactly one to set the world on fire but Weiner directing Wilson, Poehler and Galifiankais sells itself, no? Lensing is set this May when the writer-director is on break for "Mad Men" and will see a decade-long project come to fruition. [Deadline]
