In between his “Aquaman” films, it appears that James Wan decided he needed to get back in touch with his horror roots. And that’s exactly what he’s done with the new film, “Malignant.” There’s nary a superhero or fishman to be found. Just terror.
As seen in the new trailer for James Wan’s next horror film, “Malignant,” the filmmaker is back to his old tricks that he seemingly perfected while making those ‘Conjuring’ films. “Malignant” tells the story of a woman with terrifying, violent visions, which she quickly finds out are actually based in reality. And when she investigates them further, she finds that it all comes back to her imaginary friend, Gabriel, who is not just real but actually truly evil.
“Malignant” stars Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (“Impulse,” “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (“Containment”), Michole Briana White (“Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (“Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films), and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”).
