Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, Allison Janney & Alec Baldwin To Star In 'Lucky Them'

While “The Last Exorcism” couldn’t muster up a decent scare and “The Virginity Hit” was a non-starter, Huck Botko — who wrote the former and wrote/directed the latter — seems to be making a step into feature films that have a budget that requires more than running around with a handheld camera.

Variety reports that Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, Allison Janney and Alec Baldwin (who recently bailed on “Men In Black 3” and is likely filling up his calendar) are set to star in “Lucky Them” which boasts a pretty intriguing premise. Co-written by Botko and Emily Wachtel, the story centers on a rock journalist who is assigned to track down her ex-boyfriend.

A few bits of trivia here: Paul Newman was formerly attached to produce before his death and Joanna Woodward has taken over in his place since. Wachtel also had bit appearances in Newman projects including “Where The Money Is” and the mini-series “Empire Falls,” but more importantly, the concept for the film was initially pitched as a television series entitled “Off The Record” seven years ago before finally taking shape as a movie.

No shooting dates are locked down just yet, but it’s expected to lens in New York City later this year.
