In Andrew Dominik's "Killing Them Softly," loose lips sink ships, and that's something veteran hitman Jackie Cogan, played by Brad Pitt, understands, though why no one else gets it baffles him. And as this new trailer for the film underlines, boasts can come to haunt you in the future.
The setup for the movie is quite simple: a high stakes poker game gets knocked off, and Jackie has to find out and eliminate who did it. The problem is that Marky Trattman (Ray Liotta) once robbed his own game and later bragged about it. Given how tight money is with the economy in shambles, he becomes a suspect. No, it's not a spoiler — this is all first act stuff — but Jackie is clearly exasperated at having to sort out a situation that involves some people who should clearly know better.
