Marvel Casts Elektra For 'Daredevil' Season 2

Elodie Yung, ElektraMarvel is bringing the supersize approach of the movies to "Daredevil." Following the well received first season, they are expanding the world for season two. Jon Bernthal is signed up to play Punisher, who will apparently be the villain the next batch of episodes, but it looks like Matt Murdock might have an (eventual) ally.

EW reports that Elodie Yung — who you might remember (or not) as Jinx from "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" or as Miriam Wu, Lisbeth Salander’s love interest in David Fincher‘s 2011 "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" — has been cast as the ninja assassin Elektra Natchios. The character was teased briefly in a throwaway line in the first season, with Matt referring to a relationship that "didn’t work out," but it looks like circumstances will bring Elektra back into his life. And we’re sure this incarnation will be better than the feature film that Marvel would like you to forget ever existed.

"Daredevil" returns to Netflix for season 2 in 2016.
