Marvel Studios Gives 'Avengers: Endgame' One Final Box Office Push With New End-Credits Scene

When “Avengers: Endgame” shattered all those records in the first 10 days of release a couple of months ago, people just assumed that the film would have no problem eclipsing $3 billion worldwide. However, the Marvel Studios film has slowed down fairly dramatically in recent weeks, as more and more competition enters theaters. Now, with ‘Endgame’ within a stone’s throw from the biggest record of them all, the worldwide cume of “Avatar,” the studio has a trick up its sleeve to help capture that final milestone.

According to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, “Avengers: Endgame” is getting a new push in theaters, with the company adding all sorts of goodies at the end of the film. As you probably know, if you’ve seen the blockbuster, ‘Endgame’ doesn’t feature a post-credits scene, instead offering a fancy roll-call of sorts, with all the main actors getting a chance to have their signatures and whatnot in the credits.

But now, the film is going to have a little more after the credits.

“Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie,” said Feige (via ScreenRant). “If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”

For weeks, we’ve been speculating that Marvel Studios would just need to release an “extended” version of the film to attract more people to the theater. While it appears that this won’t be a true “extended cut” of ‘Endgame,’ there is a reason for fans to spend more money on the film before it leaves theaters later this summer.

Will this be enough to push ‘Endgame’ over the edge and outgross “Avatar?” It’s obvious that Disney/Marvel Studios sure does want that to happen. And being only $45 million-ish away from the record means that it won’t take much to overtake the James Cameron-directed blue alien film.

So, if you want to see what all the fuss is about, you can watch “Avengers: Endgame” for the 5th time this weekend, with brand-new post-credits stuff. I’m sure many fans will be joining you.
