While Mads Mikkelsen is no stranger to blockbuster movies, having roughed up Daniel Craig is in his first Bond outing "Casino Royale," it’s only recently that he’s really become a major player. He’ll be taking a role in the upcoming "Star Wars: Rogue One," and it seems Disney’s other world-beating fantasy factory is interested in the actor.
Variety reports that Marvel wants Mikkelsen to play the villain in "Doctor Strange." Early talks are underway for the actor to join Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor (holy geez, that cast!) in the movie playing an unknown antagonist to the titular sorcerer. Any guesses? (Ed Note: Yes! Baron Mordo.)
I’d wager Mikkelsen’s participation will depend on his scheduling for "Star Wars: Rogue One," and whether or not he wants to sign a multi-picture deal. On the flipside: Cumberbatch/Swinton/Ejiofor! Hanging out with those folks on that set would probably be a blast. The Scott Derrickson directed movie will open on November 4, 2016.
