Paul Schrader is on a bit of a roll in recent years. With the release of “First Reformed” in 2018 followed by last year’s “The Card Counter,” the filmmaker has only added to his already legendary career. Now, all eyes are on what he has coming next, “Master Gardener.”
According to HanWay Films, Paul Schrader is rounding out the cast of his upcoming film, “Master Gardener,” and he’s added Quintessa Swindell and Esai Morales to the feature. Those two join the already-announced Joel Edgerton and Sigourney Weaver.
Here’s the official description of the film:
NARVEL ROTH (Edgerton) is the meticulous horticulturist of Gracewood Gardens. He is as much devoted to tending the grounds of this beautiful and historic estate, to pandering to his employer, the wealthy dowager MRS. HAVERHILL (Weaver). When MRS. HAVERHILL demands that he take on her wayward and troubled great-niece MAYA as a new apprentice, chaos enters NARVEL’S spartan existence, unlocking dark secrets from a buried violent past that threaten them all.

Swindell is probably best known for their role in “In Treatment.” However, their biggest role to date is likely going to be in the superhero film, “Black Adam,” where they are set to play Cyclone. Morales is a veteran actor who has been seen in a number of big projects over the decades. Coming up, he is expected to be in the highly anticipated films, “Mission: Impossible 7” and “Mission: Impossible 8.”
A release date and distributor have yet to be announced for “Master Gardener.” However, with Schrader’s track record recently, and this amazing cast, the film shouldn’t have a problem finding distribution.
