All you have to do is take a simple peek at our trailer deconstruction feature to know that Wes Anderson is packing much more into his forthcoming “The Grand Budapest Hotel” than simply a lot of pretty pictures. Boasting different aspect ratios and time periods, it’s an ambitious take on the films of Ernst Lubitsch and Billy Wilder, with the film tracking the adventures of concierge Gustave H. against the backdrop of a changing Europe. That said, this is a Wes Anderson film, which means great attention will be paid to what’s in the front of the camera too, and that’s the focus today.
A batch of twenty new images have arrived for the movie, giving a solid look at the ensemble cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jude Law, among a handful of others not pictured just yet (Jason Schwartzman, Lea Seydoux and others). Lots to take in below, in what looks to be Anderson’s most visually pleasing movie to date.
“The Grand Budapest Hotel” premieres at the Berlin Film Festival in February and opens on March 7th.
