'Men In Black International' First Official Look Has Chris Hemsworth & Tessa Thompson With Laser Guns

Chris Hemsworth is having a pretty great Friday. And as if you were going to doubt how much fun the life of the man who is Thor actually is, he went on Twitter to not only share a #FlashbackFriday post that not only proves he got to hang out with Tessa Thompson (a boy can dream), but also serve as one of the first looks at his upcoming “Men in Black International” (the real title of his upcoming ‘Men in Black’ spin-off/reboot). Oh yeah, and there was this little trailer or something that came out today. But all anyone cares about is ‘MiB.’

In the picture that the actor shared on Twitter, we see exactly what you come to expect from any ‘MiB’ film. There’s two actors (from completely different backgrounds…for comedy!) wearing black suits holding “laser guns” (his words, not mine). But this time, instead of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith doing the ‘MiB’-ing, you have the aforementioned Thompson and Hemsworth, which judging by the chemistry on display in their last co-starring film, is a good fit.

As alluded to, Thompson and Hemsworth famously teamed up in a similar buddy-cop fashion, albeit more intergalactic, in the film “Thor: Ragnarok.” And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Put these two in any sort of buddy-cop scenario and it’s sure to be fun and, yes, dreamy.

Now, don’t go thinking that the picture Hemsworth shared is a still from ‘MiBI’ (not sure the acronym really works, but oh well). According to a later tweet, Hemsworth gives a proper explanation to the situation pictured, saying, “…this shot was taken in between set ups when we noticed some criminal activity on the streets in London. We immediately drew our laser guns and took down one of the largest crime syndicates in the city. Happy to say the streets of London are now safe again. You’re welcome world.”

Perhaps more entertaining than even the picture and the caption, is the fact that his tweets weren’t met with tons of fans praising his comedic skills or talking about how hyped they were for the upcoming sequel/spin-off/reboot of the popular franchise. Instead, there were hundreds of tweets asking why he chose “Avengers: Endgame” trailer day for the picture release, with many just posting sad Thor screenshots from the recent trailer.

Oh well, can’t win them all.

“Men in Black International” hits theaters on June 14, 2019, directed by F. Gary Gray, coming off his huge success with “The Fate of the Furious.” The only real question left is when the inevitable Chris Hemsworth-rapping theme song hits?
