Michael B. Jordan Teaming With Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts For An Upcoming Monster Movie

Watch out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michael B. Jordan is out there trying to become the actor with the most projects in development. Thanks to a scene-stealing turn in one of the biggest films of 2018, “Black Panther,” combined with another great performance in “Creed II,” the young actor has cemented himself firmly in the superstar category and is using that star power to its fullest. And for his next project, he’s teaming with Jordan Vogt-Roberts on yet another blockbuster.

THR is reporting that Jordan has teamed up with Vogt-Roberts for an untitled “monster movie.” Details are scarce, but we do know that the film will take place in Vogt-Roberts’ hometown of Detroit and is based on an original idea from the filmmaker. And as he’s been doing with all his recent projects, Jordan is producing the project through his production company, Outlier Society.

As mentioned, Jordan is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood after a massive 2018, with upcoming projects like “Wrong Answer,” “Just Mercy,” and “Without Remorse.” In addition, he’s got a minor role in his upcoming TV series “Raising Dion.”

Vogt-Roberts really made a name for himself thanks to his “Kong: Skull Island,” which proved that Legendary’s monsterverse (along with the new ‘Godzilla’ franchise) was a viable cinematic universe, with Kong coming back in next year’s “Godzilla vs. Kong.” He’s also recently been attached to a TV series produced by Seth Rogen about the video game “console wars” of the ‘90s.

The actor and Vogt-Roberts are said to be looking for a writer for the monster movie, so it appears this film is still a ways off. But with those two attached, it should be a fun one.
