Michael Fassbender Exits Lynne Ramsay's 'Jane Got A Gun,' Jude Law Joins & Joel Edgerton Switches Role

Jude LawWith one week to go before cameras start rolling on Lynne Ramsay‘s western “Jane Got A Gun,” the cast has been given a Boggle worthy shake with one actor leaving, another joining and one more switching roles. So here we go….

But first to recap: the story was initially set to follow Jane Hammond (Natalie Portman), a good girl married to one of the worst baddies in town. When her husband Bill turns against his own gang, the vicious Bishop Boys, and returns home barely alive with eight bullets in his back, Jane decides to grab a gun and take matters into her own hands. As the relentless leader John Bishop (Joel Edgerton) gears up for revenge, Jane’s best hope for her family’s survival rests with her old love Dan Frost (Michael Fassbender) – a gunslinger whose hatred for Bill is only slightly overshadowed by his love for Jane.

But THR reports that scheduling delays on “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” have forced Fassbender out of the picture. So instead, Edgerton will take Fassbender’s vacant role, with Jude Law coming on board in Edgerton’s former part as the villain. Can’t say we can complain, and while Fassbender is a loss indeed, Law is pretty fine replacement.

So everything remains on schedule, and we’ll just wait patiently until next year to see the results.
