Michael Winterbottom's 'The Killer Inside Me' Sticks To Its Guns With New Poster

They’re certainly not shying away from their controversial Sundance debut, are they? Here is the new Casey Affleck-centric poster for Michael Winterbottom’s “The Killer Inside Me.”

The actor’s entrancing stare is just teasing and daring you to check out the film in spite of everything you’ve heard. Just weeks ago, it was the talk of Park City for it’s reported brutal and graphic depiction of violence against women.

The film is an adaptation of a Jim Thompson novel of the same name and centers on a murderous small-town Texan sheriff. Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Simon Baker, Bill Pullman, Ned Beatty and Elias Koteas co-star.

Winterbottom rightfully has nothing to fear but — the prolific helmer already has a Palestine-set political crime-thriller “The Promised Land” lined up for a late summer shoot with Jim Sturgess and Matthew MacFadyen starring as two British officers who go up against an extreme right-wing Jewish group and its leader, played by Colin Firth of all people.

“The Killer Inside Me” will see a release this summer through IFC Films.
