'The Offer': Miles Teller Replaces Armie Hammer In Paramount+'s 'Godfather' Series

When it was announced that Armie Hammer wasn’t going to take part in the production of the upcoming Paramount+ series, “The Offer,” the scripted series that explores the making of “The Godfather,” was without a lead. Now, it appears that Miles Teller is ready to fill the role of producer Al Ruddy.

According to Variety, Miles Teller is taking over the role of Al Ruddy in the upcoming limited series, “The Offer.” The Paramount+ series tells the story of Ruddy’s experience as a producer during the production of “The Godfather.” The series is co-written by Nikki Toscano and Michael Toklin, with Toscano serving as showrunner. Dexter Fletcher is also aboard as the director of the pilot episode, as well as a block of entries at the end of the 10-episode series.

As mentioned, the role of Al Ruddy was originally given to Hammer. However, after multiple sexual misconduct allegations were lobbed at Hammer, the actor was removed from the role, leaving the lead vacant. Now, Teller takes over to play the famous producer who worked on what many consider one of the best films ever made.

Teller is probably best known for his work on features such as “The Spectacular Now,” “Whiplash,” the ‘Divergent’ franchise, and “War Dogs.” In 2019, he also starred in the 10-episode Amazon series, “Too Old to Die Young,” which was directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. He has a number of films coming soon, including “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Escape from Spiderhead,” and Sean Penn’sFlag Day.”

A release date for “The Offer” has yet to be announced, but it appears that the production is getting back on its feet with Teller in the lead role. Hopefully, we’ll be hearing more about it soon.
