Turns out Miranda July’s next film won’t be an adaptation of her multi-media play “Things We Don’t Understand and Definitely Are Not Going To Talk About” like she had said a few years ago and instead will be the recently announced film “Satisfaction.”
A triangular love story about the elusive quest for satisfaction, July will once again, write, direct and star in the film, much like her debut picture, “Me and You and Everybody We Know” which won a Sundance special jury prize and Cannes’ Camera d’Or in 2005. Other actors will be announced shortly.
“Satisfaction” is evidently budgeted at $8 million and begins shooting in July and August in Los Angeles (or the autumn depending on which source you believe). This film must have been the new July film cinematographer Ed Lachman recently said he was going to lens soon.
Well, as long as she’s making movies, we’re happy.
July’s blogging has slown down to a crawl, but we do feel great that we both share an affinity for the MGMT album, Oracular Spectacular. At this point, we feel like we should point you to our If I Were Miranda July imaginary soundtrack’s playlist. People seem to enjoy this one.
