Even though it has been quite a while since the first trailer for Martin Scorsese‘s “Hugo” dropped this summer, it appears that with the movie coming next month, a new wave of marketing is unfolding. Just a couple of days ago, some new pics surfaced online centered on Ben Kingsley and Jude Law, and now courtesy of the latest issue of Empire, a few more snaps from the movie have been revealed.
While the trailer for the film put some people off, perhaps folks need to remember that it’s a big family movie event, which likely means this is going to be a new side to Scorsese we’ve never seen before. If anything, the trailer promised a visually dazzling and whimsical affair, and these new pics certainly bear that out. Led by Asa Butterfield and Chloë Moretz, the 1931-set film follows the story of the eponymous boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station, who encounters a broken machine and an eccentric girl, and gets caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure. Along the way he runs into filmmaking forefather Georges Méliès (Kingsley). Law will be starring as Hugo’s Dad.
So with all these pics surfacing, is a new trailer on the way? With the movie opening on November 23rd, you can probably bet on it. Check ’em out below.
