If you want to make the big bucks, throwing a little bit of caution to the wind is a necessity. That goes for those who want to climb the corporate ladder at their job and everyone else who—maybe—just wants to make some quick cash. “Most Dangerous Game” throws money at its “contestants,” but many may not live to see a dollar spent.
Emmy winner Phil Abraham (“Mad Men” and “The Sopranos“)directs at least two installments of the upcoming Quibi series, an adaptation of Richard Connell’s 1924 short story “The Most Dangerous Game.” It is not a true TV show but—instead—classified as a “movie in chapters,” and each episode i.e. “chapter” runs up to 10 minutes in length. Abraham also serves as an executive producer on the endeavor along with Nick Santora, Gero Bauknecht, and Gerd Schepers. Additionally, cinematographer Matthew J. Lloyd (“Spider-Man: Far From Home”) is on board to provide a nice scope to all the action.
Liam Hemsworth—one of the main stars—is suitably qualified to take on the perils of another live-or-die situation. His Gale Hawthorne did help topple the Capitol in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” but with less-than-honorable motivations, to say the least. Christoph Waltz—Hemsworth’s co-star—also looks more than up to the task to play the executor of the contest in question. Look no further than his critically-acclaimed turn as master manipulator and Nazi officer Hans Landa in “Inglourious Basterds” for pitch-perfect proof.
