MTV Set To Pick Up David Gordon Green Produced Animated Series 'Good Vibes'

David Gordon Green continues to mine the world of slackers and misfits as MTV is close to ordering twelve episodes of the animated comedy, “Good Vibes.”

The show, close to being set up at Fox a couple of years ago, follows “two high school surfer dudes living near the beach in California” and presumably, the hijinks they get into. A pilot was created in 2008 with Adam Brody, Alan Tudyk, Danny McBride, Debi Mazar, Jake Busey, Josh Gad and Olivia Thirlby in voice roles, and MTV is hoping to get the actors to reprise their parts. Given the relationship between Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, we’re guessing he’s one guy that will be returning for sure. David Gordon Green will executive produce the series, along with Tom Werner, Mike Clements and Brad Ableson.

We presume that if the deal gets finalized, MTV will look to launch the show in their fall lineup. We’re curious about this one and at the very least it will save us all from endless reruns of “Jersey Shore” and “16 & Pregnant.” We hope “Good Vibes” is a return the MTV glory years of animation that included “Daria” and “Beavis & Butthead.”
