It’s not often that Supreme Court justices earn hero status, but Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of them. She has long made women’s rights and issues a central focus of her legal career, and now her story is being told, with a major A-list star to play the part.
Deadline reports that Natalie Portman will headline the Black List-approved “On The Basis Of Sex.” Penned by Daniel Stiepleman it tells he story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she faced numerous obstacles to her fight for equal rights over the years. Making a nice jump from her Sundance buzz, “The Diary Of A Teenage Girl” helmer Marielle Heller will direct, with Focus Features throwing their might behind the picture too. Indeed, the wheels are moving fast, and the plan is to get this in front of cameras before the end of the year.
