Netflix Orders Season 2 Of 'Bloodline' For 2016

BloodlineYesterday, our own Nikola Grozdanovic went long on on how "Bloodline" Gives Viewers The Tragic Anti-Hero Television Has Been Waiting For Since Walter White. Indeed, the star-studded Netflix drama takes about four to five episodes to really get rolling, so you have to manage a bit of patience. But once it does, it’s a terrific family drama, thriller, soap opera, and procedural all rolled into one. Yes, it can be too knotty for its own good at times, and maybe juggles one too many character arcs, but the Rayburns are one of the most interesting families on TV right now, and there will be much more where that came from.

Variety reports that Netflix has ordered a second season of the show, with production to start later this year for a 2016 rollout. Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett and Enrique Murciano currently star in the first season. And while I won’t give away any spoilers here, it’ll be interesting to see who returns for the second round, and how the story will continue following the events of the first season.

There’s plenty of room, however, for this drama to grow, and the complicated messy lives of the Rayburns surely won’t see the last of danger coming to their door.
