Last month, Fox told reporters that "24" wasn’t done yet, and they were cooking up something new with the franchise, after its successful return as an event series last spring with "24: Live Another Day." "We have been developing another version of ’24,’ but it is still fairly early in the development process, so there’s just really nothing that we can tell you at this time other than [that] we are working on something," co-Chairman and CEO Gary Walden said. And now, a few more details have arrived.

TV Line is reporting that "24" will have another go round as an event series, but this time, Kiefer Sutherland‘s Jack Bauer will be taking a back seat, slotted to guest appearances. Instead, a "twentysomething male terrorist hunter" will take over in the lead role, adding some fresh blood to the proceedings. This new character would work alongside an older female agent (but not Yvonne Strahovski, who may or may not reprise her role as well) in a new adventure that will be "in the tradition" of the show so many of your Dads love.
No exactly story details just yet, but Manny Coto and Evan Katz will write and executive produce, and while no air date has been given either, I’d assume this might drop sometime in 2016.
