New Godsmack Frontman Record is 'Expendable'

Sylvester Stallone’s beefed up action flick “The Expendables” is getting a little musical aid from Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, 93X in Minneapolis reports. Erna got in when a friend who happens to be editing the film told him Stallone was looking for music. Erna sent them a track called “Sinner’s Prayer” and Stallone reportedly liked it. Who wouldn’t with a title like that? [ed.: Sounds like an Army commercial waiting to happen to us.]

Erna was in the middle of finishing up his first solo endeavor at the time, though he says now that the album will be delayed for the usual marketing reasons. Erna tells the radio station, “We’re gonna push it back and try and tie it into the movie and do all that stuff.” He’s articulate to boot!

This merger of action and rock will surely bring a flock of shirtless, tattooed and shaved Smackheads to the already beefed up, roided out, testosterone-fest, which is starring the likes of Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Jet Li. Erna’s growling and rough as razors voice should certainly add that something extra in the way of masculinity to the film, in case you weren’t feeling tough-guyed out enough.

The film is slated for an April 23rd, 2010 release. – Frank Rutledge
