While “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is slinging its stuff overseas to some rather big office numbers, stateside we continue to wait for the latest adventure in the rebooted franchise. But that just gives Sony more time to make sure everyone comes out next week to see the movie, with the studio expecting an opening approaching $100 million. So to that end, more pics, featurettes and teasers about what’s coming in next chapters of the series.
With Webb taking Peter Parker back to a younger, high school age for his series, it has meant that one of the most iconic characters, newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson, has yet to pop his head into the movies. But it would seem that as Peter gets older, he may find himself at work at the Daily Bugle, with the director teasing that J. Jonah Jameson could indeed be coming.
“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could out do J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic,” the director said in a recent Google Hangout. “That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”
So, let the fancasting start now. Meanwhile, for even more from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” before it lands on May 2nd, a new featurette has arrived focusing on baddie Electro. [ComingSoon/Spider Man News]
