New Images From 'A Single Shot' With Sam Rockwell & William H. Macy, Film Added To Berlin Film Festival Lineup

nullHere's the thing about film festival season. While it brings with it numerous high-profile titles that bloggers and movie fans have been following since day one, there is also a handful of strong movies we simply forgot about. Case in point: "A Single Shot." The long-developing picture firmed up its cast last spring, and went in front of cameras, and it promptly faded to the back of our minds. But today it was announced by the Berlin International Flim Festival as part of their Forum section, where it will be making its World Premiere. And a whole host of images for the movie have cropped up to give us a first peek.

But before we dig into what the movie is about, let's go over the great cast once again: Sam Rockwell, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Isaacs, William H. Macy, Melissa Leo, Kelly Reilly ("Flight," "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows") and Ophelia Lovibond ("No Strings Attached," "London Boulevard"). Dang. Directed by David M. Rosenthal ("Janie Jones") and based on the book by Matthew F. Jones, the story follows Rockwell's John Moon, a hunter who accidentally shoots a teenage girl and then discovers a small fortune while trying to dispose of her body. But he's soon on the run from killers looking to retrieve their money, and he's forced to defend his life and his family.

The snaps certainly suggest a gritty picture and we'd basically watch anything with Rockwell, Macy and Wright. There's no distributor for this one yet, and we'd wager it'll do some festival play first before it arrives in a theater near you. But check out the images below for now. And a couple of other notable films joining "A Single Shot" in the Forum section are two Sundance entries: Andrew Bujalski's "Computer Chess" and Matthew Porterfield's "I Used To Be Darker."nullnullnullnullnullnullnullnullnull
