New Images From Denis Villeneuve's 'Enemy' With Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rosellini & More

Enemy

It seems that Denis Villeneuve doesn’t like downtime. After shooting “Enemy” and “Prisoners” back to back, he’s already at work on this next movie, the sci-fi drama “The Story Of Your Life,” which is expected to shoot this fall. But before that, his first collaboration with Jake Gyllenhaal, “Enemy,” will arrive in theaters this spring, and we’re not kidding when we call it one of the 21 Best Films Of 2014 We’ve Already Seen.

Co-starring Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rosellini and Sarah Gadon, and based on the novel “The Double” by Jose Saramago, the story follows a sullen, increasingly paranoid teacher who believes he’s found his exact doppelganger, and starts to try and figure out who exactly this person is. And the result is a rather stylish thriller, one that we called “a gripping slow burn portrait of the male id/ego, our self-destructive tendencies and how they control us.”

The good folks at A24 will release this on March 14th, but to get you ready, here’s a batch of new images from the movie. [Gotham News]
