‘Tis the season for TV. With “True Detective” over, and “Girls” winding down, we’re going to have to start finding other fixes for our habit. “Game Of Thrones” comes in a few weeks (and you can catch up with a 25-minute recap of season three right here), but that’s not all. AMC and Netflix will have new offerings too, so let’s check ’em out.
First up, “Mad Men” begins the slow roll to the finale, with the first half of season seven dropping this spring. But before you start speculating about the meaning of the airport-centric pics, the spoiler-protective creator Matthew Weiner says not to read into it too much. “We picked the airport partially because of the irony of the fact that there is zero glamour at an airport now, and in travel in general,” he explained to Vulture. “It doesn’t defy analysis, because all those people will be in the show, but I would not read meaning into it. Sorry!”
Meanwhile, “Orange Is The Black” has dropped images from actual episodes of the upcoming second season. And if you’re wondering what the tone will be of the show that has skirted both comedy and drama with equal weight, Netflix has decided to submit it in the Comedy category for Emmy consideration. Thoughts?
“Mad Men” returns weekly on April 13th, while the whole damn second season of OITNB lands on June 6th.
