Can Seth MacFarlane weave the same kind of comedic and money-making magic on the big screen as he has on the small screen? Whether or not you like his brand of comedy which fits somewhere between "The Simpsons" and "South Park" in sensibility, it's undeniable that he's been hugely successful and now he's hoping his specific schtick can translate into the live-action world with "Ted," opening at the end of the month.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and MacFarlane himself, the story centers on John Bennett (Wahlberg), who has lived nearly his whole life with Ted (MacFarlane), a teddy bear that has came to life and been his companion since childhood. However, when John begins a relationship with Lori (Kunis), it's time for Ted to go, leading to wacky hijinks for all. While we were not quite sold on the trailer, Wahlberg is usually pretty awesome in comic form, and we'd wager there will probably be some big laughs to be had. But MacFarlane's tendency to push buttons will probably likely also be on display, and that can be grating at times.
Anyway, until it opens on June 29th, here is a batch of new images from the film.
