A flood is coming, but not to worry, because Darren Aronofsky is building the boat, cinematically speaking. Next spring, the director brings his snake-filled, crazy demon angel version of “Noah” to the big screen, and now a few more images have arrived to tide us over.
While you likely already know the Sunday School version of the story, where God commands Noah to build an ark to survive the Earth-obliterating disaster He’s gearing up, Aronofsky is jacking things up a bit. His version will be a much more supernatural and fantastical take, featuring (among many other things) eleven foot tall angels and Noah himself being compared to Mad Max. So yeah, the Kirk Camerons of the world may not recognize the Noah they grew up with right away. And these new photos of the movie provide new and first looks at titular lead Russell Crowe along with Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone and Anthony Hopkins.
Douglas Booth, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas, Dakota Goyo, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson and Arnar Dan round out the cast, so bring a set of two animals to your local theater on March 28, 2014. [Fotogrames]
