The New 'Jonah Hex' Trailer Isn't Much Better Than The First One

Well, this writer is a little pressed for time this morning so he’ll keep the easy lobs at “Jonah Hex” to a minimum, but needless to say, the production troubled film has some of the worst buzz of any film so far this year. Set to open in just over three weeks, the first trailer did little to persuade people that a film that has Josh Brolin talking out of the corner of his mouth for the entire running time is worth caring about, so a new trailer has been cut and IGN has spilled it online.

You know how sometimes a second trailer will be tonally a little different from the first to try and shed a new light or new angle on a film? That isn’t the case here. Warner Bros. simply recuts most of the footage from the first trailer, inserts a couple of forgettable new moments including a razzle dazzle shot of a train blowing up to smithereens in what might be a sly metaphorical nod to the overall production.

We’re not sure how the film managed to get a cast that includes awesome dudes like John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender and Michael Shannon. but the marginal moments with that supporting cast might be the only thing worth watching in the movie. Oh yeah, Megan Fox is in this too but we cannot confirm her dress size at the time of filming.

“Jonah Hex” opens on June 18th.
