New Look: Michelle Williams, Dougray Scott & Eddie Redmayne In Simon Curtis' 'My Week With Marilyn'

Here’s a new, highly-stylized look at Michelle Williams stepping into the undoubtedly large shoes of Marilyn Monroe alongside Dougray Scott and Eddie Redmayne for Simon Curtis‘ “My Week with Marilyn.”

Based on an assistant’s diary kept during the production of “The Prince and the Showgirl, the film follows Monroe’s friendship with said assistant, Colin Clark, during her stay in the country shooting as well as her tempestuous relationship with director/co-star Laurence Olivier. Rising star Redmayne stars as Clark with veteran Kenneth Branagh portraying Olivier and Scott as Monroe’s husband, Arthur Miller. The cast also sees Judi Dench playing actress Sybil Thorndike and Julia Ormond as Olivier’s wife Vivien Leigh with Derek Jacobi, Dominic Cooper and Emma Watson rounding things out.

As mentioned in our Oscar column, the film is being mentioned in early awards season talk — we guess Williams’ performance in particular has great potential — but it’d probably have to be considered an outsider at this stage due to Curtis’ relative inexperience. That said, inexperience didn’t stop Tom Hooper and “The King’s Speech” from sweeping things last year.

“My Week with Marilyn” will premiere at the New York Film Festival this fall before its planned November 4th theatrical release through The Weinstein Company. [JustJared]
