While we're waiting to see just what's in store with the high concept comedy "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," the cast can't seem to stop raving about it. When we spoke to Keira Knightley at the beginning of the year, she said: "It's a very, very dark comedy. It's also weirdly for its subject matter incredibly optimistic and sort of life-affirming. I thought it was one of the best scripts I've read, really." And when we chatted with Patton Oswalt earlier this month prior to SXSW, he was even more effusive in his praise.
"That script was so fucking good," he said adding, "Even before I knew I was going to do that script I got sent it to read it. My friend was like, 'Hey do you want something good to read?' just like it was like a friend giving you a good book to read, that’s how good the script was so we’ll see. I mean I’ve seen a lot of really great scripts that were fun reads, did not translate to screen but…I can’t imagine it going wrong, but now I’m jinxing the movie. I don’t want to jinx it but the script was so fucking good!" High praise indeed.
We too are very curious, and MTV has pulled back the veil a bit more with a gallery of new images from the movie revealing more of the leads Keira Knightley and Steve Carell, and much of the supporting casting, including Adam Brody, Derek Luke, Rob Corddry, Melanie Lynskey, TJ Miller and the awesomely named dog, Sorry. Take a look below. "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" arrives on June 22nd.
