Aliens, vampire and tsunamis…things won't all be breezy at the movies this year, and some pics have arrived giving us a taste of what's to come.
First up, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back to battle extraterrestrials one more time in "Men In Black III." We'll spare you the recap of the troubled production, but this time around, we get a time jumping plot, which will find Josh Brolin as Agent K in the '60s. The suit wearing pair will square off against Jemaine Clement who plays the villain, with a bonkers cast including Alice Eve, Bill Hader, Emma Thompson, Rip Torn, Nicole Scherzinger and more filling out roles in the story both past and present. Put on your 3D Raybans when it hits theaters on May 25th.
While Steven Spielberg will be giving the prestige movie treatment to Abraham Lincoln, Timur Bekmambetov is gonna have him driving stakes into hearts in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." Starring Benjamin Walker (as the president), Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Robin McLeavy, Jimmi Simpson, Alan Tudyk and Rufus Sewell, the film is based on the faux diaries of the president given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturgess (Cooper). Sturgess saved Lincoln’s life when he battled a vampire as a teenager, and the two become fast friends. Sturgess teaches Lincoln about the history of vampirism, trains him in combat, and sends the president to hunt and kill evil vampires. Mackie will play the president’s best friend Will, with Winstead playing Mary Todd, McLeavy as Lincoln’s Mom, Sewell as the head vampire Adam, and Tudyk as Stephen A. Douglas, leader of the Southern vampires. All in all, history will never be the same. It lands on June 22nd.
Finally, a couple of new snaps from the very promising drama "The Impossible" starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. Helmed by Juan Antonio Bayona ("The Orphanage") the film centers on a family caught up in the events of the tragic 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. The filmed gained some recent buzz thanks to early teaser trailer, but no stateside release date has been set yet. The movie lands in Spain on October 11th and it's one we're keeping on our eye on.
