New Photo: Mickey Rourke & Megan Fox In 'Passion Play'

We’ve already seen one small look at Mitch Glazer’s “Passion Play” starring Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox, and now we’ve got our hands on another.

The film centers on a down-and-out trumpet player (Rourke) who seeks redemption through an angel in 1950s Los Angeles (Fox). Earlier this year, Rourke said Megan Fox is, “probably the best young actress I’ve ever worked with.” This is also coming from someone who talks a lot of trash and threw his “The Wrestler” co-star Marisa Tomei under the bus, so we should probably consider this high praise.

The film also stars Rhys Ifans, Kelly Lynch, Rory Cochrane, Bud Cort and Bill Murray who stepped in for actor Toby Kebbell who bailed on the role last minute. Glazer is a good friend of Murray’s, wrote “Scrooged,” and actually is occasionally a go-between for producers and directors that have no direct line to the mercurial actor. Murray recently told GQ that Kebbell, “lost his balls,” because he was “terrified of working with Mickey Rourke,” so he took the role as a favor to his friend who was in a pinch.

We have it under good authority that the film will play at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. Whether it will be a world premiere or not, is unclear, but the picture is definitely set to run in Toronto. No regular U.S. date has been made for the film yet and it will likely try and find at distributor at the film festival.
